Thanks for introducing me to this folksinger from an era I lived through in the U.S. Please say hello to my good friend Masaki for me. Tell him I miss him and hope to see him again some day.
Hi, Tom and Louise, I miss you too, Tom. I learned a lot from the era by talking with you many times. Looking back, I am sure that my singing experience at the Wise Guys NCU concert back in 2012 became one of the theads to lead me into my current musical protest demanding democracy at NCU. I really would like to have opportunties to perform with you again, this time, by playing my ukulele. Best. Masaki Hirata
Thank you so much for this song. I was not familiar with it. It is so relevant to today’s struggles. I was also so touched to learn that the Hattoris have been working for 30 years to get some change in US gun laws. Such commitment is inspiring. May they and we see change in our lifetimes.
Nice to meet you Kathy. I really appreciate your comments on the Hattori's longtime anti-gun violence activities. I figure that all of what they have done over the years are showing us how important it is for the Japanese and the American ordinary people to go hand in hand at the grassroots level for a non-violent peaceful society, given the 21st century tendency the government-based US-Japan relationship has turned more militalistic. Best. Masaki Hirata
